Banghra Dance Lesson with Gurdeep Pandher: Gurdeep Pandher, famous Canadian Bhangra dancer from the Yukon welcomes ages 12 and up to learn Bhangra dance at the Creemore Legion Saturday October 5 at 11 AM. Gurdeep’s Bhangra dance sessions are based on body and mind movement. They are a joyful way to introduce physical exercise and a nourishing routine to a wholesome mental well-being wonderland. Dance for Joy with Gurdeep Pandher: Join us at the Creemore Village Green at 2 PM to celebrate Joy and Inclusivity with Yukon Banghra dancer Gurdeep Pandher. Gurdeep's performance pieces bring together people from all backgrounds while promoting hope and positivity. Mr. Pandher’s work is based in cultural knowledge sharing and learning for building inter-racial and cross-cultural bridges. He has collaborated with people and artists from many different backgrounds, including Indigenous artists, to build a deeper understanding of multicultural Canada. Free event. 

The Ice Project: Artist Sue A. Miller is creating an immersive exhibition which will include large oil paintings of icebergs, backlit images, a large sculptural element, and a multi layered soundtrack of whale calls, calving glaciers, and water. Free admission. 

Aysanabee in Concert: Aysanabee is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and 2024 Juno winner for songwriter of the year and alternative album of the year. He is Oji-Cree, Sucker Clan of the Sandy Lake First Nation a remote fly-in community in the far reaches of Northwestern Ontario currently living in Toronto. The Conscientious Effort of Jim Harkness: Visit the Creemore Log Cabin to be immersed in the Magical World of Jim Harkness. Harkness is best known for his whimsical wood carvings which have been loved for generations. During this exhibition we celebrate his work as an artist as well as his contribution to Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society and our community.

Purple Hills Arts Interactive Activity: Letters of the Heart: Interactive and inclusive activities exploring letter writing from pen and ink, and typewriters.

I Will Not Let You Waste Away: Artist Jennifer Johne will be displaying found objects ‘liberated’ from landfill sights and using them as inspiration to create art and design. She hopes to inspire people to rethink their idea of waste.
